Accuracy
Geo-grid accuracy: proof, not claims.
How accurate is a geo-grid rank tracker? Here is how Local Pinmeter collects every pin, how we check it, and how to test it against the tool you use now. We only say “more accurate” once a test shows it.
How each pin is collected
One real search per pin.
- Every pinis its own Google Maps search, made from that exact spot on mobile at zoom 14
- Top 20businesses stored at every pin, so any rank in a report traces back to the search behind it
- 810 of 810pins returned a result in our five-salon case study
Shown: Element Nail Bar 16th Street, “nail salon near me”, 9×9 grid 0.5 mi apart, October 16, 2026. Element Nail Bar is a client of Edge Local Authority (opens in a new tab), the agency Local Pinmeter was built with.

Compare it with the tool you use now
- Pick a client and one keyword.
- Run the same grid, centre and spacing in your current tool and in Local Pinmeter, at the same time. Google Maps rankings move during the day.
- Compare the two maps pin by pin.
PinProof™: the phone test
Matching another tool shows consistency, not truth. The real referee is a phone searching from the pin itself. We’re running that test, PinProof: a phone searches at each pin, and we compare what it shows with our ranks. The results will be published here, whichever way they go.
How we test
- Same conditions. Same business, keyword, grid and spacing, run at the same time.
- Agreement and repeatability, separately. Two tools agreeing shows they see the same data. One tool agreeing with itself on a re-run shows it’s stable. Neither proves what a searcher sees; only a phone at the pin does.
- Honest gaps. A pin where the business isn’t in the top 20 is shown as “20+”, never as a failure. A point that fails to load is marked failed, and its credit comes back.
- Raw data kept. Every pin’s full result list is stored, so any number in a report can be traced to the search behind it.
