Acceptable Use Policy

Draft under legal review. Placeholders in [brackets] are filled in before launch.

Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everyone using Local Pinmeter: your team, and anyone using your share links, lead pages or connected accounts.

Don't

Misuse the scans or the data:

  • Resell or redistribute raw scan data as a data feed or API, or use Local Pinmeter as a back end for another rank tracker.
    • Sharing reports, share links, PDFs and exports with your clients and prospects is fine. That's what they're for.
  • Use the service to benchmark, copy or build a competing product, or copy its screens, report layouts or workflows (Terms §9 and §10).
  • Use the service to stalk, harass or track individuals, or for anything unlawful.

Get around limits:

  • Get more than one free trial for the same agency, for example with extra email addresses or domains.
  • Get around credit balances, spend caps or rate limits.
  • Get around the free-scan limits (one per business and email, a daily cap per connection) or the human check.

Scrape or overload the service:

  • Read the app, share links, lead pages or the free-scan page with bots, scrapers or crawlers. Use the exports and the API (when available) instead.
  • Send traffic that slows the service for others.
  • Probe, scan or test our security without our written permission.
  • Reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it.

Misuse Google Business Profile posts:

  • Post to profiles you aren't authorised to manage.
  • Post spam, misleading offers or content that breaks Google's Business Profile content policies.
  • Use the service to post, buy or arrange fake reviews.

Misuse leads and contacts:

  • Collect leads without the consent text the form shows.
  • Use leads for anything other than following up on their report, as the consent says.
  • Send spam to leads or to anyone else.

Upload harmful or unlawful content:

  • Content that is unlawful or infringing, or that you have no right to use: logos, client data, imports.
  • Malware, or attempts to reach another workspace's data.

Limits that apply to everyone

These keep the service fast and fair, and the app shows them where they apply.

  • Credits limit how much each workspace can scan (Terms §3).
  • Rate limits apply to sign-in, public pages, share links and the free scan.
  • A human check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs on sign-up and on public forms.
  • Google allows a fixed number of requests a minute across all agencies. Bulk posts queue behind that limit and show a status for each location.

What happens if this policy is broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may:

  • warn you;
  • pause scans, posts or lead pages;
  • disable share links;
  • suspend or close the workspace.

We tell you why in the app or by email when we can. Credits used in breach aren't refunded.

Report abuse of the service, including a lead page or share link, through the feedback form, or at [LEGAL EMAIL] for legal matters.
